Leichtathletik
Nachwuchsstar Beatrice Masilingi und Ryan Williams waren die erfolgreichsten Sportler bei den namibischen Leichtathletikmeisterschaften. Beide Leichtathleten haben jeweils einen nationalen Rekord gebrochen, Williams im Diskuswurf mit 56,70 Metern und Masilingi im 200-Meter-Lauf in 22,81 Sekunden. Für Masilingi war es bereits der zweite nationale Rekord in diesem Jahr, nachdem sie Anfang Oktober im kenianischen Nairobi die doppelte Distanz in 50,99 Sekunden lief. Über beide Distanzen ist sie einer Qualifikation für Olympia 2021 nahe.
Fußball
Die Namibia Football Association NFA hat unter Federführung des afrikanischen Fußballdachverbandes CAF einen Trainerlehrgang für die C-Lizenz veranstaltet. Hierbei geht es vor allem um das Coaching von Jugendmannschaften. Zudem werde ab heute ein Fußballmanagement-Kurs durchgeführt, der Verwaltungsmitarbeitern im namibischen Fußballsektor neue Richtlinien und Vorgaben der CAF näherzubringen.

Acht Spieler der malischen Nationalmannschaft, gegen die die namibischen Brave Warriors in den vergangenen Tagen zwei Spiele absolvierten, wurden in Windhoek positiv auf das Coronavirus getestet. Sie wurden umgehend isoliert und nahmen nicht an der Partie vorgestern in Windhoek teil.
Internationaler SportTennis
Alexander Zverev hat seine Chance auf das Halbfinale beim ATP Finals in London gewahrt. Er besiegte den Argentinier Diego Schwartzman in drei Sätzen. Nun geht es morgen noch gegen die Nummer 1 der Welt, den Serben Novak Djokovic. Hier muss Zverev ebenfalls gewinnen. Djokovic unterlag überraschend glatt gegen Daniil Medwedew . – Heute kämpfen im Doppel die deutschen French-Open-Sieger Kevin Krawietz und Andreas Mies um den Einzug ins Halbfinale. Ihre Gegner sind das US-amerikanisch-britische Duo Rajeev Ram und Joe Salisbury, die derzeit als Tabellendritte ausgeschieden wären. Krawitz und Mies sind aktuell 2.
