Angesichts der landesweiten Wiederaufnahme des Präsenzunterrichts hat der Verkehrsunfallfonds MVA zu besonderer Vorsicht gemahnt. Kinder seien im Straßenverkehr besonders gefährdet, so der MVA Fund. Bis August wurden in diesem Jahr bereits 244 Kinder zwischen 5 und 17 Jahren bei Unfällen verletzt. In 24 Fällen endeten diese Unfälle tödlich. Die Unfallzahlen liegen dabei leicht über dem Vorjahresniveau. Im Vergleich zum Jahr 2019 bleiben die Zahlen allerdings rückläufig. Am schlimmsten ist nach wie vor die Khomas Region betroffen, aus der rund 40 Prozent aller Fälle vermeldet wurden.
