Das geplante Verbot von Alkoholwerbung könnte große wirtschaftliche Probleme mit sich bringen. Die Regierung arbeite Medienberichten nach derzeit an einem Gesetz, dass die Förderung von bewusstseinsverändernden Substanzen verbieten soll. Das Gesetz würde konkret vor allem Alkoholwerbung betreffen. Es sehe auch die Einrichtung einer nationale Drogen-Kontrollkommission vor. Die Werbeindustrie mache zudem einen Großteil ihrer Geschäfte mit der Vermarktung von Alkohol. Ebenso würden Sportsponsoring vielfach durch Alkoholmarken betrieben werden. Ob auch Zigaretten von dem Gesetz erfasst sind, wurde nicht genannt.
