Die von Präsident Hage Geingob eingesetzte Arbeitsgruppe zum Thema „Industrie 4.0“ hat ihren Abschlussbericht vorgelegt. Ziel der Arbeitsgruppe war es, eine Bewertung der aktuellen Technologisierung in Namibia abzugeben. Die Vorsitzende der Arbeitsgruppe, Anicia Peters, empfahl laut der New Era bei der Vorstellung des Berichts die Errichtung eines nationalen Datenzentrums. Dadurch wäre Namibia im Stande, eigene datengestützte Entscheidungen zu treffen. Zudem betonte sie die Dringlichkeit einer Bildungsreform und forderte bessere rechtliche Grundlagen, um zu einer Industrienation 4.0 aufsteigen zu können.
