Das australische Bergbauunternehmen Bannerman Energy Limited hat eine Lizenz für die geplante Etango-Uranmine beantragt. Geschäftsführer Brandon Munro erklärte dazu, dass man robuste Entwicklungsstrategien vorlegen könne. Eine Umweltverträglichkeitsbescheinigung sei bereits vorhanden. Bis Dezember soll zudem eine abschließende Machbarkeitsstudie vorgelegt werden. Die Bergbaukammer hatte zuletzt erklärt, dass auch das Uran-Projekt Reptile weit vorangeschritten sei. Zudem soll im ersten Quartal 2024 auch der Uran-Abbau bei Langer Heinrich wieder aufgenommen werden.
