Die bestehenden Corona-Regularien der Regierung sind ohne Änderungen verlängert worden. Das gab Präsident Hage Geingob heute bekannt. Die Maßnahmen gelten damit bis zum 15. Juni 2022. Gleichzeitig appellierte der Präsident an die Eigenverantwortung der Namibier zur Eindämmung des Infektionsgeschehens. Dabei sprach er von einer Besorgnis erregenden Haltung im Bezug auf Masken. Die Maskenpflicht in Namibia war im März zwar aufgehoben worden. Präsident Geingob rief dennoch weiterhin zum Tragen einer Maske in Innenräumen und bei Versammlungen auf.
