Deutschland hat Fahrzeuge und Ausrüstung im Kampf gegen die Wilderei an das namibische Umweltministerium gespendet. Zusammen mit der Entwicklungsbank KfW wurde die Spende gestern dem Umweltministerium übergeben. Umweltminister Pohamba Shifeta äußerte sich dankbar für die Zusammenarbeit: „Diese Spende stellt eine bedeutende Unterstützung beim Schutz unserer Wildtiere und der effektiven Verwaltung unserer Nationalparks dar.“ Die Ausrüstung im Gesamtwert von über N$ 20 Millionen soll vor allem in den Nationalparks Etosha und Bwabwata, sowie in der Kunene-Region zum Einsatz kommen. Die Spende umfasst unter anderem 10 Geländefahrzeuge, Camping-Ausrüstung und IT-Ausstattung.
