18 Unternehmen in Namibia müssen sich wegen Verstößen gegen den Affirmative Action Act erklären. Das teilte das Arbeitsministerium mit. Die Unternehmen sollen nun vor einem Überprüfungsausschuss gehört werden. Laut Exekutivdirektorin Balbina Pienaar sind es die ersten Anhörungen dieser Art. Betroffen sind unter anderem die Flughafen- und Hafenbehörden NAC und Namport, der Regionalrat von Ohangwena, der Regierungsfonds GIPF, sowie verschiedene Privatunternehmen. Das Gesetz zu Affirmative Action soll unter anderem gleiche Beschäftigungschancen für benachteiligte Personengruppen schaffen. Seit September 2022 gilt es für alle Unternehmen mit 10 oder mehr Angestellten.
