Der namibische Flüchtlingsbeauftragte Likius Valombola wurde des Mordes schuldig gesprochen. Das Obergericht in Windhoek sah es als erwiesen an, dass der 56-Jährige vor dreieinhalb Jahren den Studentenführer Helao Ndjaba ermordet hat. Die Vorsitzende Richterin Claudia Claasen ließ unmittelbar nach Verkündung des Urteils Valombola festnehmen. Er war bisher auf Kaution auf freiem Fuß. Valombola hatte das 25-Jährige Opfer durch zwei Schüsse getötet. Der verurteilte Mörder hatte die Abgabe der Schüsse gestanden, sprach aber stets von Warnschüssen in die Luft. Das Strafmaß soll noch vor Jahresende verkündet werden.
