Ab morgen macht das französische Forschungsschiff Tara vor Walvis Bay Halt. Während des sechstägigen Aufenthalts lädt Die Besatzung Schulen und die Öffentlichkeit ein, das Forschungsschiff zu besichtigen. Die Tara Ocean Stiftung, der das Schiff gehört, erforscht den Ozean. Mit diesen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen über den Ozean wollen sie ein kollektives Bewusstsein für den Erhalt und Schutz des Ozeans bei den Menschen schaffen. Namibia ist an der westafrikanischen Küste dabei einer von sieben Stopps. Zuletzt hatte das Forschungsschiff in Kapstadt gehalten.
