Der Gastgewerbeverband HAN hat für Juni eine Auslastung der Tourismusunterkünfte von 32,1 Prozent verzeichnet. Dazu wurden Daten von insgesamt 73 Unterkünften ausgewertet. Im Vergleich zu den Zahlen aus dem Vorjahr hat sich die Auslastung damit beinahe verdoppelt. Die Reservierungen lassen laut HAN zudem auf weiter steigende Buchungszahlen für Juli bis September deuten. Derweil kamen im Juni die meisten ausländischen Reisenden aus Deutschland, der Schweiz und Österreich nach Namibia. Den größten Anteil an Touristen machte mit über einem Drittel jedoch der lokale Markt aus.
