Das namibische Handelsdefizit ist im September um N$ 200 Millionen wieder leicht angestiegen. Den neusten Zahlen der Statistikbehörde NSA zufolge stand das Defizit zuletzt bei N$ 3,1 Milliarden. Damit importiert Namibia nach wie vor deutlich mehr Waren, als exportiert werden. Die Ausfuhren sanken laut NSA zudem im September um rund 8 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vormonat. Vor allem im Bergbausektor wurden deutlich weniger Güter exportiert. Aber auch die Exporte von Fisch und Fleisch sanken zuletzt deutlich. Nach wie vor bleibt China wichtigster Exportmarkt, wo hingegen die meisten Importe aus Südafrika kamen.
