Die Handelskammer hat sich für eine teilweise Privatisierung von staatlichen Betrieben in Namibia ausgesprochen. Damit sollen diese Unternehmen profitabel gemacht werden. Die Vizevorsitzende der Handelskammer in Ondangwa, Vitoria Joel, nannte den jüngsten Börsengang von MTC als positives Beispiel. Auch die geplante Übernahme der Green Schemes durch Privatunternehmen sei ein guter Anfang, so Joel. Auch das Transportunternehmen TransNamib, der Rastlagerbetreiber NWR oder die Wohnungsbaugesellschaft NHE und selbst der halbstaatliche Rundfunk NBC benötigten jedoch Partnerschaften. Laut der Handelskammer gebe es Sorgen seitens der Steuerzahler, dass sie die Staatsunternehmen weiter subventionieren müssten.
