Namibia hat vorübergehend die Einfuhr von 13 Gemüsesorten aus dem Ausland verboten. Damit soll die lokale Vermarktung und Produktion angekurbelt werden. Das berichtet die Nachrichtenagentur Nampa unter Berufung auf den Landwirtschaftsrat NAB. Zu den Sorten zählen unter anderem Kartoffeln, Rote Beete, Karotten und Kohl. Laut dem NAB gebe es in Namibia aktuell ein Überangebot an den betroffenen Gemüsesorten. Einen ähnlichen Schritt war zuletzt auch Simbabwe gegangen. Die Regierung in Harare hatte nach der guten Ernte in diesem Jahr den Import von Mais verboten.
