Aus Anlass des Weltkindertages rief Staatspräsident Hage Geingob zum Schutz der Schwächsten in der Gesellschaft auf. Wie aus einer Erklärung hervorging, verständigten sich Geingob und seine Amtskollegen aus Botswana, Sambia und Simbabwe auf verstärkte Anstrengungen bei den Kinderrechten. Die Präsidenten luden am Samstag zu einer Diskussion mit Vertretern von Kindern auf der Kazungula-Brücke ein, unweit des Quasi-Vierländerecks der Staaten ein. Vor allem die Bildung, als Grundlage für wirtschaftlichen Erfolgt, soll in Zukunft einen noch größeren Stellenwert erhalten, zeigten sich Geingob und seine Amtskollegen überzeugt.
