Das Uranbergwerg Langer Heinrich plant auch nach mehr als drei Jahren Stillstand wieder den Betrieb aufzunehmen. Dies bestätigte das Unternehmen Paladin Energy. Hierfür seien etwa 1,2 Milliarden Namibia Dollar notwendig. Man plane nun mit einem Produktionsziel von 1,59 Milliarden Namibia Dollar über 17 Jahre. Die ermittelten Produktionskosten seien seit der letzten Veranschlagung um etwa 60 Prozent auf mehr als 27 US-Dollar pro Ertragspfund gestiegen. Die Wiederaufnahme des Abbaus werde 18 Monate dauern. Im letzten Abbaujahr 2017 lag der Ertrag bei fast 1530 Tonnen Uran.
