Das Innenministerium wird im „Lühl“-Fall um die Staatsangehörigkeit eines von einer Leihmutter ausgetragenen Kindes vor das Obersten Gerichtshof ziehen. Dies teilte das Ministerium in einer Erklärung mit. Nachdem die Begründing von Obergericht analysiert wurde, halte man aufgrund von klaren rechtlichen Fehlentscheidungen diesen Schritt für sinnvoll. Weitere Einzelheiten wollte das Ministerium aufgrund des nun wieder aufgenommenen Verfahrens nicht nennen. Philipp Lühl hatte in erster Instanz mit seiner Klage gegen das Innenministerium Erfolg gehabt. Das Obergericht sprach einem seiner Kinder die namibische Staatsangehörigkeit zu, da diesem diese zustehe, solange ein Elternteil Namibier sei.
