Der Fund von mehr als 1000 Gewehren in Tsumeb ist weiterhin nicht geklärt. Dies teilte die Polizei mit. Bei Kabelkanalarbeiten hatten Mitarbeiter von Telecom Namibia die Waffen auf dem Gelände des Gymnasiums in Tsumeb entdeckt. Berichte, wonach es sich um Waffen aus der deutschen Kolonialzeit handelt, wurden bisher nicht bestätigt. Die Polizei ist mit ihrer Sprengstoffeinheit vor Ort, um das Gelände zu sichern. Bei anhaltenden Arbeiten vor Ort werden immer wieder neue Waffenfunde gemacht.
