Namibia will mehr weibliche Führungskräfte in internationalen Gremien einsetzen. Das erklärte Vizepremierministerin Netumbu Nandi-Ndaitwah laut Nampa. Im kommenden Jahr übernimmt Namibia unter anderem wieder wichtige Positionen im SADC-Organ für Sicherheit und im AU-Sicherheitsrat. Nandi-Ndaitwah kündigte an, dass Namibia plane, diese Positionen mit Frauen zu besetzen. Gleichzeitig mahnte die Vizepremierministerin auch an, dass die Frauenquote im nationalen Kontext erhöht werden müsse. Beispielsweise bei der Etataufstellung oder nationalen Planung gebe es einen erhöhten Bedarf für weibliche Führungskräfte. In der Nationalversammlung sind aktuell knapp unter der Hälfte der Sitze mit Frauen besetzt.
