Transportminister John Mutorwa hat die Angestellten von TransNamib kritisiert. Einige der Mitarbeiter des staatlichen Transportunternehmens würden ihre Position und öffentliches Eigentum zum privaten Vorteil ausnutzen, sagte der Minister laut der Nachrichtenagentur Nampa. Dies würde den Eisenbahnverkehr im Land generell zum Entgleisen bringen, so Mutorwa wörtlich. Bei TransNamib würden viele Probleme zudem auf fehlende finanzielle Mittel geschoben. Das Unternehmen habe jedoch auch nichts vorzuweisen, was die Regierung überzeugen würde, mehr Geld zur Verfügung zu stellen.
