Nachdem ein Schock-Video zum Verhalten von SAMIM-Truppen im Norden Mosambiks auf den sozialen Medien aufgetaucht ist, hat die SADC-Führung nun Ermittlungen angekündigt. In dem Video sind Soldaten in Uniform zu sehen, die den leblosen Körper eines Mannes auf einen brennenden Müllhaufen werfen. Bei den Soldaten soll es sich um Mitglieder der südafrikanischen Streitkräfte (SANDF) handeln. Präsident Hage Geingob erklärte in seiner Funktion als Vorsitzender des SADC-Sicherheitsorgans, dass man ein solches Verhalten ablehne und nach Abschluss der Ermittlungen entsprechende Schritte einleiten werde. Auch die SANDF hatte Ermittlungen angekündigt. Der Vorfall soll sich im November vergangenen Jahres zugetragen haben.
