Namibias Handel hat im Juli einen deutlichen Einbruch erlebt. Dies geht aus der nun veröffentlichten Übersicht der Statistikagentur NSA hervor. Demnach ist der Handel um mehr als ein Drittel gegenüber Juni auf 12,7 Milliarden Namibia Dollar gesunken. Gleichzeitig nahm das Handelsdefizit deutlich von etwa 900 Millionen im Vormonat auf 3,2 Milliarden Namibia Dollar im Juli zu. Auch die Reexporte, vor allem von Kupfer aus Sambia und der Demokratischen Republik Kongo, gingen um 25 Prozent zurück. Insgesamt war Südafrika war der wichtigste Abnehmer und Lieferant an Namibia.
