Der Studentenfonds NSFAF hat für dieses Jahr mehr als 38.000 Anträge auf finanzielle Zuschüsse erhalten. Das berichtet die NBC. Das bedeutet einen Anstieg von beinahe zwei Dritteln im Vergleich zu den durchschnittlichen Antragszahlen der letzten Jahre. 2022 hatte der NSFAF beispielsweise nur 17.000 Studenten unterstützen können. Ein genaues Budget für dieses Jahr soll laut dem Fonds derweil noch nicht feststehen. Der NSFAF ist mit Hunderten Millionen Namibia Dollar verschuldet. Eine Auflösung zu Ende 2023 steht im Raum. Dies war zuletzt auch von Oppositionsseite gefordert worden.
