Südafrikas Präsident Cyril Ramaphosa hat Vorwürfe der Geldwäsche im Zusammenhang mit dem Einbruch auf seiner Farm Phala-Phala zurückgewiesen. In der Nationalversammlung betonte Ramaphosa gestern noch einmal, dass es sich bei dem gestohlenen Geld um Einnahmen aus dem Verkauf von Wildtieren gehandelt habe. Er widersprach auch Anschuldigungen, wonach er versucht habe, den Vorfall zu vertuschen. Vielmehr habe er sich umgehend an die Polizei gewendet, so Ramaphosa. In Südafrika untersucht aktuell ein unabhängiges Gremium, ob sich Ramaphosa im Zusammenhang mit den Vorwürfen einem Amtsenthebungsverfahren stellen muss. Mit einem Ergebnis wird Mitte Oktober gerechnet.
