Die zwölf Radarfallen, die im Rahmen eines Verkehr-Kontrollprojekts entlang der Fernstraßen B1 und B2 errichtet wurden, sind noch immer nicht einsatzbereit. Ermittlungen über möglichen Betrug bei der Vergabe des Millionenauftrags dauern bereits seit über 16 Monaten an. Wie der Republikein berichtet habe Polizeichef Sebastian Ndeitunga auf Nachfrage keine Gründe für die Verzögerung der Ermittlungen nennen können. Der Auftrag für die Installation der Radarfallen und die Beschaffung der damit verbundenen Technologie hat rund N$ 12 Millionen gekostet. Er war 2015 an die Firma CSS Tactical Security vergeben worden. Die Ausschreibung was angeblich durch Unregelmäßigkeiten geprägt.
