Der deutsche Energiekonzern RWE und Hyphen Hydrogen Energy aus Namibia haben eine Absichtserklärung zum Kauf von 300.000 Tonnen grünen Ammoniaks unterzeichnet. Dies teilten die beiden Unternehmen mit. Bis 2027 will Hyphen im Rahmen seines Wasserstoffsprojekts eine Million Tonnen Ammoniak ausstoßen. Scheinbar soll das Ammoniak ins norddeutsche Brunsbüttel exportiert werden, wo bis 2026 ein Lager entstehen soll. Laut Hyphen sei dies ein besonders wichtiger Schritt auf dem Weg zur Realisierung einer der größten Fabriken für grünen Wasserstoff in Afrika. RWE sieht den Kauf als Meilenstein für Deutschland, um dort die ambitionierten Klimaziele zu erreichen.
