Die Sardinen- und Langustenbestände vor der Küste Namibias sind offenbar weiterhin niedrig. Das teilte Fischereiminister Derek Klazen laut Nampa mit. Aktuelle Proben hätten Hinweise auf ein sehr geringes Wachstum gegeben. Dies sei Anlass zur Sorge, so Klazen. Tatsächlich seien aufgrund der Bestände die Fangrechte für Langusten beispielsweise kaum noch kommerziell lohnend. Anders sieht es bei Bastardmakrelen, Seehecht und Krebsen aus, wo sich die Bestände laut Klazen zwar nur langsam erholen würden, aber keine Gefahr einer vollständigen Erschöpfung bestehe.
