TransUnion hat vor einem Anstieg des Onlinebetrugs in Namibia gewarnt. Dem Finanzdienstleister zufolge sollen es sich in Namibia in den Tagen um Black Friday bei rund 6 Prozent aller Transaktionen um Betrug gehandelt haben. Dies sei eine Steigerung von mehr als 50 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr, heißt es weiter. Der Einzelhandel im Online-Bereich habe zu Pandemiezeiten deutlich zugenommen, was sich nun auch in den Betrugszahlen widerspiegele. Laut TransUnion seien vor allem falsche Gewinnspiele und Konto-Diebstähle die Ursachen für Online-Betrug. Die Geschäftsführerin von TransUnion Namibia, Lara Burger, forderte daher, dass auch Onlinehändler hierzulande die Sicherheit ihrer Kunden gewährleisten müssten.
