Obwohl die COVID19-Pandemie aktuell in den Krankenhäusern kaum noch keine Rolle spielt, wurden die Kapazitäten für eine mögliche vierte welle weiter ausgebaut. Gesundheitsminister Kalumbi Shangula sagte am Vormittag, dass seit Juni landesweit jeweils Isolationsstationen von vier bis 12 Betten an verschiedenen Krankenhäusern geschaffen wurden. Am Staatskrankenhaus Katutura wird die ehemalige Tuberkulose-Station zu einer 96-Betten-COVID19-Einrichtung ausgebaut. Zudem werden neue 15-Betten-Intensivstationen unter anderem in Keetmanshoop, Opuwo, Mariental und Rundu geschaffen.
