Die zweite Auktion von Fangrechten bringt der Regierung über N$ 400 Millionen ein. Das gab Finanzminister Ipumbu Shiimi gestern vor dem Parlament bekannt. Über die Hälfte der Gelder wurde durch Seehecht-Fangrechte eingebracht. Das schließt auch die an die Demokratische Republik Kongo verkauften Rechte in Höhe von etwa N$ 85 Millionen mit ein. Außerdem wurden noch Fangrechte für Bastardmakrelen und Seeteufel versteigert. Dem Finanzminister zufolge wurden, anders als bei der ersten Versteigerungsrunde, Anzahlungen oder Bankgarantien von den Bietenden verlangt, um spekulative Gebote zu unterbinden. Die insgesamt N$ 408,6 Millionen sollen laut Shiimi vor allem dem Gesundheitssektor im Kampf gegen COVID19 zu Gute kommen.
