Die Dominanz ausländischer Investoren im namibischen Bergbausektor könnte zu einem Problem werden. Dies geht aus dem vergangene Woche vorgestellten Länderbericht des African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) hervor. So dürfte Namibia aufgrund der Firmengeflechte der internationalen Bergbaukonzerne viele Steuereinnahmen verlieren. Zudem würden Gesetzeslücken und ein Mangel an Branchenerfahrung der Buchprüfer dazu führen, dass Ausgaben von Bergbauunternehmen zu hoch und Einnahmen zu niedrig angegeben werden. Es sei deshalb wichtig, dass die zuständigen namibischen Behörden frühzeitig Gesetzeslücken und Steuerschlupflöcher schließen, ehe die Bereiche grüner Wasserstoff und Erdölförderung konkreter werden.
