Staatspräsident Hage Geingob hat in seiner Ansprache zum Weihnachtsfest die positiven Aussichten für Namibia betont. Auch wenn das ablaufende Jahr nicht einfach gewesen sei, sehe die Zukunft rosig aus. Hierfür müsste das Land aber geschlossen auftreten und an einem Strang ziehen, so Geingob. Man habe die schwierigste Phase seit der Unabhängigkeit überstanden. Gleichzeitig rief Geingob dazu auf, in dieser festlichen Zeit verstärkt an die weniger privilegierten Menschen zu denken und diese zu unterstützen. Er tue dies mit monatlich 60.000 Namibia Dollar seines Staatspräsidentengehaltes, hieß es vergangene Woche in einer Erklärung.
