Die beiden US-Amerikaner Kevan Townsend und Marcus Thomas müssen im Zusammenhang mit dem Heckmair-Mordfall jahrzehntelang ins Gefängnis. Das berichten verschiedene Medien übereinstimmend. Oberrichter Christie Liebenberg verhängte heute demnach wegen Mordes und schweren Raubes eine Haftstrafe von 29 Jahren für Townsend. Thomas muss sich zusätzlich wegen Justizbehinderung verantworten und deshalb insgesamt 30 Jahre ins Gefängnis. Beide waren kürzlich für schuldig befunden worden, im Januar 2011 den Namibier André Heckmair erschossen zu haben. Der Prozess gegen die beiden US-Amerikaner hatte schon 2014 begonnen. Sie sitzen bereits seit beinahe 13 Jahren in Untersuchungshaft.
