In Simbabwe ist ein Konvoi des Oppositionsführeres Nelson Chamisa angegriffen worden. Die Fahrzeugkolonne war im Süden es Landes unterwegs, als ein Mob von rund 200 Personen die Straßen versperrt und die Fahrzeuge mit Steinen attackiert haben soll. Nach Angaben der MDC-Alliance sollen mehrere Personen verletzt worden sein. Chamisa, der selber unversehrt blieb, machte Anhänger der Regierungspartei Zanu-PF für den Zwischenfall verantwortlich. Auf den sozialen Medien rief er Präsident Emmerson Mnangagwa auf, die politische Gewalt gegen die Opposition zu stoppen. Regierungsvertreter wiederum sprach von einem gestellten „Drama“.
