APP-Generalsekretär Vincent Kanyetu ist mit sofortiger Wirkung aus der Partei ausgetreten. Das berichtet die Nachrichtenagentur NAMPA. Demnach erklärte er in einem Brief an die Parteiführung, dass ihm 200 weitere Mitglieder folgen würden. Kanyetu war im Juni 2023 vorläufig suspendiert worden. Dabei geht es Medienberichten zufolge um angebliches sexuelles Fehlverhalten und Unterstützung einer anderen Partei. Der Beschuldigte selbst hatte die Vorwürfe stets zurückgewiesen. Kanyetu war der APP im Jahr 2015 beigetreten. Zuvor war er Generalsekretär der DTA (heute PDM), aus der er nach einem Streit um den Verkauf von Parteieigentum in Rundu ausgeschlossen worden war.
