Der südafrikanische Präsident Cyril Ramaphosa plant Medienberichten zufolge die Einführung eines bedingungslosen Grundeinkommens. Das geht aus durchgesickerten Dokumenten seines Wirtschaftsberaterstabes hervor, aus denen News24 berichtet. Demnach empfiehlt dieser dringend die Einführung einer solchen Zuwendung. Eine endgültige Entscheidung dazu werde aber wohl nicht mehr bis zur Vorstellung des neuen Staatshaushaltes im Februar gefällt, heißt es. Vielmehr wolle man ein weiteres Jahr der Planung abwarten. Ziel müsse es sein, dass jeder Südafrikaner über der Armutsgrenze von knapp R600 pro Monat lebe. Aktuell trifft das auf jeden fünften Bewohner Südafrikas nicht zu.
