Der ehemalige Stadtdirektor von Walvis Bay, Muronga Haingura, fordert 18 Millionen Namibia von der Hafenstadt. Dies Geld stehe ihm laut seinen Anwälten als Widergutmachung zu, berichtet der Namibian. Sein Name sei in den Dreck gezogen worden und müsse mit einem erheblichen Schadenersatz reingewaschen werden. Haingura war vor knapp einem Jahr suspendiert worden um Platz für interne Ermittlungen in einen Skandal rund um den Massenwohnungsbau zu machen. Er begründet seine Forderung mit der Tatsache, dass er nie wieder eine Anstellung finden könne. Ein unabhängiger forensischer Bericht zu den Vorfällen sei nie öffentlich gemacht worden, weshalb die Anschuldigungen wohl nicht stimmen würden.
