Das Gesundheitsministerium hat sich besorgt über die hohe Covid-19-Todesrate gezeigt. Laut Gesundheitsminister Kalumbi Shangula sei das vor allem darauf zurückzuführen, dass viele Patienten keine medizinische Hilfe in Anspruch nehmen und zuhause sterben würden. Selbst wenn Erkrankte sich entscheiden würden, ins Krankenhaus zu gehen, sei es oftmals schon zu spät um sie zu retten. Trotz stark zurückgehender Infektionszahlen wurden seit Wochenbeginn 61 Todesopfer vermeldet. Die Sieben-Tage-Inzidenz stand zuletzt bei 52 und hat sich damit in der letzten Woche halbiert.
