Nampol hat die sterblichen Überreste der bei dem Flugzeugunglück Ende August ums Leben gekommenen Personen freigegeben. Diese sind Polizeiangaben nach den hinterbliebenen Familien aus Deutschland und Südafrika übergeben worden. Auf Impalila Island waren am 30. August vier Touristen und die Pilotin beim Absturz eines Kleinflugzeuges gestorben. Indessen dauern die Ermittlungen zur Unfallursache durch die Flugunfalluntersuchungsstelle noch an. Mit einem vorläufigen Bericht könne in den nächsten Tagen gerechnet werden, heißt es. Unter anderem der Motor werde in Südafrika analysiert. Die vorgeschriebene Identifizierung der Leichen habe sich hingezogen, da die Familien der Verstorbenen nicht nach Namibia gereist sind.
