Das Gesundheitsministerium ist besorgt über einen Anstieg der Positivrate bei Covid-Tests in Namibia. Einer internen Mitteilung an die Gesundheitsbehörden der Regionen zufolge, lag die Positivrate der vergangenen zwei Monate landesweit bei über acht Prozent. Besonders hohe Zahlen wurden dabei aus den Regionen Otjozondjupa, Oshikoto und //Kharas vermeldet. Laut Gesundheitsdirektor Ben Nangombe könnte dies ein Hinweis auf steigende Infektionszahlen in Namibia sein. Da zwischen November und Mitte Dezember insgesamt aber nur rund 4.000 Tests durchgeführt wurden, müsse nun die Testrate erhöht werden. Dafür sollen nun Testzentren reaktiviert werden.
