Polizeichef Josef Shikongo hat vor den negativen Folgen des Alkoholkonsums in Namibia gewarnt. In vielen Fällen von tätlicher oder geschlechtsbedingter Gewalt würde der Missbrauch von Alkohol und Drogen eine Rolle spielen. Das sagte Shikongo bei der Einweihung einer neuen Polizeistation im Dorf Ongha in der Ohangwena Region. Gleichzeitig rief er noch einmal eindringlich dazu auf, keine alkoholischen Getränke zu konsumieren und anschließend Auto zu fahren. Alkohol werde zum Problem in Namibia, so der Polizeichef wörtlich. Selbst die Alkoholproduzenten in Namibia seien mittlerweile besorgt.
