Simbabwes Präsident Emmerson Mnangagwa hat seinen Minister für Staatssicherheit entlassen. In einem kurzen Statement wird Owen Ncube unangemessenes Verhalten vorgeworfen. Details wurden nicht genannt, lokale Medien führen seine Entlassung auf Streitigkeiten innerhalb der regiernenden ZANU-PF zurück. Ncube war durch mehrere westliche Staaten für die gewaltsame Niederschlagung von Anti-Regierungs-Protesten verantwortlich gemacht worden. Dafür war er unter anderem von den USA und Großbritannien auf die Sanktionsliste aufgenommen worden. Insgesamt hat Mnangagwa seit seiner Amtsübernahme im Jahr 2017 bereits fünf Minister entlassen.
