Nach dem Parlamentsbrand in Südafrika muss sich der mutmaßliche Brandstifter nun auch wegen Terrorismus verantworten. Insgesamt steigt die Anzahl der Anklagepunkte gegen Zandile Mafe damit auf sechs. Der 49-Jährige war heute erneut vor Gericht erschienen, sein Anwalt erklärte dabei, dass Mafe unter medizinischer Aufsicht stehe. Dabei sei bei seinem Mandanten paranoide Schizophrenie diagnostiziert worden. Mafe war am 02. Januar im Zusammenhang mit dem Feuer im Parlamentsgebäude in Kapstadt verhaftet worden. Er selbst bestreitet die Vorwürfe, sein Anwalt hat seine Freilassung auf Kaution beantragt. Vor dem Magistratsgericht in Kapstadt versammelten sich Medienberichten zufolge dutzende Unterstützer des Angeklagten.
