Der Verkauf der Zinkmine bei Rosh Pinah an Appian Capital Advisory LLP ist abgeschlossen. Das teilte die britische Kapitalgesellschaft in einer Presseerklärung mit. Demnach habe man 89,96 Prozent der Anteile an dem Bergwerk erworben. Zum Kaufpreis wurden vorerst keine Angaben gemacht. Appian-Geschäftsführer Michael Scherb kündigte allerdings an, das Projekt „Rosh Pinah 2.0” fortsetzen zu wollen. Dabei geht es um den Ausbau der Mine, um die jetzige Kapazität von jährlich 0,7 Millionen auf 1,3 Millionen Tonnen Erz auszuweiten. Zudem sollen neue Produktionsstätten und Abwasseranlagen entstehen. Entsprechende Pläne hatte bereits das bisherige Betreiberunternehmen Trevali Mining angekündigt, diese nach finanziellen Problemen jedoch gestoppt.
