Im Zuge des Vergabeskandals rund um das Gesundheitsministerium in Südafrika sind heute sieben weitere Angestellte der Behörde suspendiert worden. Das teilte Gesundheitsminister Joe Phaahla mit. Der Schritt folgt auf die Veröffentlichung des Berichts der Sonderermittler rund um die mutmaßlich irreguläre Vergabe eines Auftrags des Ministeriums an das Unternehmen Digital Vibes. Den Verdächtigen wird eine mögliche Verwicklung vorgeworfen. Die Namen der suspendierten Mitarbeiter wurden nicht genannt, der Bericht hatte aber von mindestens sieben Personen gesprochen, die sich verschiedener Vergehen schuldig gemacht haben sollen. Über den Skandal war bereits unter anderem der ehemalige Gesundheitsminister Zweli Mkhize zurückgetreten, ihm wird eine direkte Verwicklung vorgeworfen.
