Das Gesundheitsministerium sieht mögliche Anzeichen einer vierten Welle in Namibia. Gesundheitsminister Kalumbi Shangula mahnte gemeinsame Anstrengungen an, um Infektionsketten zu durchbrechen. Mitarbeiter im Gesundheitswesen seien angewiesen, Patienten bei Verdachtsfällen umgehend auf COVID19 zu testen. Das Ministerium vermeldete heute 81 Neuinfektionen, beinahe eine Verdopplung im Vergleich zum Vortag. Zudem stieg die Positivrate auf 4,5 Prozent. Impfungen seien die einzige Hoffnung im Kampf gegen den unsichtbaren Feind, so Shangula. Aktuell gelten nur rund 12,5 Prozent der namibischen Bevölkerung als vollständig geimpft.
