Der Bildungsdirektor der Region Erongo, Erenfriede Stephanus, ruft Eltern dazu auf, ihre Kinder in ländliche Schulen mit Schülerheim unterzubringen. Dies würde den massiv überlasteten städtischen Bildungseinrichtungen helfen, berichtet Nampa. Vor allem in größeren Ortschaften mangele es weiterhin an freien Plätzen für Schüler, vor allem der Klassen 1 und 8. Zudem haben ländliche Schulen den Vorteil, dass die Kinder in Ruhe lernen und mit ihresgleichen zusammenleben könnten. Für das laufende Jahr plane man knapp 60 Klassenzimmer in der Region zu errichten. 63 Lehrerposten seien derzeit offen.
