Der NamPol-Attaché für Südafrika, Kommissar Christopher Nakanyala, ist gestorben. Der 59-Jährige war erst im vergangenen Jahr nach Pretoria versetzt worden. Zuvor war er 33 Jahre lang in verschiedenen Positionen für die Polizei tätig. So war er unter anderem Leiter der Einheiten für innere Angelegenheiten und Kriminalitätsprävention sowie Kommandeur der Polizei in der Omusati-Region. Außerdem diente er als Leiter der SADC-Beobachtungsmission in Lesotho. Er verstarb am 13. März 2023 in einem Krankenhaus in Pretoria. Eine Todesursache wurde nicht genannt. Nakanyala hinterlässt sechs Kinder.
