Die Polizei hat in den Regionen Erongo und Kavango-West zwei mutmaßliche Wilderer festgenommen. Die beiden Verdächtigen gingen dabei verdeckten Ermittlern in die Falle. In Swakopmund soll ein 71-jähriger Namibier versucht haben, den Ermittlern vier Elefantenstoßzähne zu verkaufen. Im Dorf Siya in der Kavango-West-Region wiederum soll ein 48-jähriger Angolaner den Undercover-Beamten zwei Häute von Schuppentieren angeboten haben. In beiden Fällen wurden die Verdächtigen umgehend festgenommen. Sie sollen noch heute erstmals vor Gericht erscheinen.
