In Südafrika entscheidet das Parlament heute über ein mögliches Amtsenthebungsverfahren gegen Präsident Cyril Ramaphosa. Hintergrund sind die Vorwürfe rund um den Einbruch auf seiner Farm Phala-Phala. Zuletzt hatte ein Parlamentsgremium erklärt, Ramaphosa könnte sich möglicherweise schwerwiegender Verstöße schuldig gemacht haben. Ein Verfahren gegen den südafrikanischen Präsidenten scheint aufgrund der Rückendeckung seiner Partei jedoch unwahrscheinlich. Der ANC hatte zuletzt erklärt, gegen die Empfehlungen des Berichts stimmen zu wollen. Zwar wäre für ein Amtsenthebungsverfahren nur eine einfache Mehrheit notwendig, die Regierungspartei hält in der Nationalversammlung Südafrikas jedoch 230 der insgesamt 400 Sitze.
